Govt approves ICANN-Verisign agreement for .com registry

Internet infrastructure services Verisign has obtained US Department of Commerce approval for the renewal of its agreement with ICANN to serve as the registry operator for the .com registry under new pricing terms. The company will continue to implement critical technical enhancements for .com, such as IPv6 and DNSSEC support, to ensure the integrity and availability of the internet Domain Name System (DNS).
