Govt plans to sell minority stake in Djibouti Telecom

The government of Djibouti says it will offer a "significant minority" stake in state-owned Djibouti Telecom to a strategic partner as it plans to open up the sector and modernise its economy, Bloomberg reported. It cited a government statement that said Djibouti hosts landing infrastructure for twelve high-capacity undersea cables, and is establishing a 4G network. Investors would also have the opportunity to expand into mobile money and data centres, it added.
