GSMA backs unified Colombian communications regulator

Colombia's aim to set up a unified regulator for its communications industry has received the backing of industry body the GSMA at the Mobile 360 Latin America event in Bogota. The creation of a unified watchdog "is timely, in that it seeks a single convergent and independent regulator to promote competition and access to communication, radio and television services, as well as to protect user rights," said GSMA Latin America director Sebastian Cabello, according to Telesemana.
