Guatemalan operators, GSMA launch disaster response campaign

The GSMA has announced that Guatemalan mobile operators Claro (America Movil), Movistar (Telefonica) and Tigo have signed a cooperation agreement with the GSMA and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to work together on the use of mobile services to prepare for and respond to emergencies caused by natural disasters. The agreement is part of the "We Care Guatemala" campaign, with the operators making a number of pledges including raising awareness and providing training about appropriate use of mobile telephony in emergencies, creating an action protocol
