Guinea-Bissau regulator tells MTN to return XAF 692 million to overcharged customers

Monday 25 January 2021 | 15:13 CET | News
The board of directors of the National Regulatory Authority (ARN) of Guinea-Bissau has ordered Spacetel (MTN) to return XAF 691.9 million to users of its network. This amount is for the period between 2018 and the first three quarters of 2019, when the operator applied interconnection tariffs that far exceeded the maximum limit. According to ARN, these charges have harmed mobile network users and the regular functioning of the ICT market, making Guinea-Bissau the country in the sub-region with the highest interconnection rate.
