Hafslund to start installing smart electricity meters

Wednesday 25 November 2015 | 13:23 CET | News
Norwegian power company Hafslund Nett said it will swap 700,000 electricity meters in Oslo and large parts of Akershus and Ostfold counties for smart meters by autumn 2018. It will start the project at the end of November 2015 by installing about 500 of the new meters in a pilot scheme. These send readings directly to the company, which it said would save customers from doing it themselves. They will also be able to monitor their energy usage. A video on its website showed Hafslund engineers installing Aidon meters.
