Half a million Spaniards remain "disconnected" - study

Around 500,000 Spaniards continue to face serious difficulties accessing the internet, according to a report from Spanish satellite telecommunications operator Quantis. The list of "disconnected" regions is headed by Galicia, which has 126,378 residents without a connection, followed by Castilla-Leon and Andalucia, with 117,167 and 49,436 disconnected residents respectively. The areas most affected by the digital divide are generally rural localities with low population densities, where coverage of the major operators is less than 10 percent due to low profitability, says the report, which
