Half of US households have internet connected TV - study

The number of US households with at least one internet-connected TV has more than doubled over the past four years to 49 percent, increasing from 24 percent in 2010 and 38 percent in 2012, according to a study from Leichtman Research Group (LRG). Overall, 24 percent of adults watch video from the internet via a connected TV at least weekly, compared to 13 percent two years ago, and 5 percent four years ago. The study also found that 47 percent of all US homes subscribe to Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime or a combination of these services. In addition, some 49 percent of Netflix subscribers
