Halotel starts Halopesa with National Microfinance Bank

Tanzanian operator Halotel has signed an agreement with the National Microfinance Bank (NMB) to enable the bank's customers, particularly in rural areas, make mobile money transactions. Halotel Deputy Managing Director Le Van Dai said NMB customers who are also subscribers of the mobile company will be able to make deposits and withdrawals from their bank accounts using Halopesa. The NMB becomes the first bank to partner with the Halotel Tanzania.
