Handset sales hit 90.5 mln in China in Q1

Some 90.54 million handsets were sold in China in the first quarter, up 34.8 percent year-on-year. Of the total, 75.28 million were smartphones, up 141.5 percent from a year earlier, the Digitimes writes citing Analysys International research. Samsung led with a market share in terms of sales volume of 17.3 percent, followed by Lenovo with a 13.1 percent share, Coolpad with a 10.3 percent share, Huawei with a 10.1 percent share, and ZTE with a 6.9 percent share of the market.
