Hawaiki Cable plans cable linking NZ with US

Hawaiki Cable may deploy a USD 300 million cable linking New Zealand and Australia to the US, Stuff.co.nz reports, citing company CEO Remi Galasso. The executive said that Hawaiki had secured a major New Zealand company to be its equity partner and an Australasian bank willing to provide debt financing. Hawaiki now expects to sign contracts with potential customers and to complete the bank process to unlock the funds.
