Hawaiki Submarine Cable signs multi-million equity deal

Hawaiki Submarine Cable, the New Zealand owner and developer of Hawaiki submarine cable system, said it has signed an agreement with SIL Long Term Holdings, which will become an equity partner for the Hawaiki submarine cable system. Under the multi-million dollar agreement, the parties have committed to a long term collaboration for the development and implementation of the USD 300 million cable system. The Hawaiki submarine cable system will provide over 25 Tbps and link Australia and New Zealand to the US, also connecting to a number of South Pacific Islands and Hawaii, by the end of 2017.
