HayaWater to invest OMR 117 mln fibre optics in Oman

Thursday 18 December 2014 | 09:40 CET | News
The government-owned utility Haya Water has earmarked around OMR 117 million for the deployment of fibre-optic cabling across its water reuse network, covering the length and breadth of Muscat Governorate, said Muscat Daily. Cables are being laid in trenches being excavated by Haya Water as part of its implementation of a waste water collection and treatment system across the capital region. This network will be placed at the disposal of Oman Broadband Company (OBC), which plans to commercialise the fibre-optic cable by offering capacity to licensed telecom operators.
