Heanet rolls out upgraded 100 Gbps network

Ireland's national research and education network Heanet has rolled out its upgraded network, which delivers 100 Gbps capacity. The EUR 5 million infrastructure project is funded by the Department for Education and Skills through the Higher Education Authority (HEA). The upgraded network can ultra-high bandwidth traffic for universities, institutes of technology and other higher education institutions across 216 locations. Network design, build and support services are being provided by Dublin-based Agile Networks, in a technology partnership with Juniper Networks.
