Helios offers to buy Orange stake in Orange Kenya

Helios Investment Partners has reportedly offered to buy Orange's 70 percent stake in Orange Kenya. Helios is said to be targeting at least 51 percent of the operator in its latest offer, leaving the Kenya government with a 29 percent stake in Orange Kenya and Orange with 20 percent. Treasury secretary Henry Rotich told the Business Daily that his ministry was aware of the ongoing takeover talks. Rotich said Treasury, a shareholder in Orange Kenya with a say in the deal, would only be involved later after the two agree on terms. Rotich said a new partner must have a viable business strategy
