HFR, Sckipio unveil 24-port G.fast distribution point unit

Sckipio Technologies and South Korean network infrastructure equipment maker HFR have announced a G.fast distribution point unit (DPU) that supports up to 24 subscribers in a single DPU. HFR's service leverages Sckipio's G.fast technology and internal distributed vectoring capability. HFR and Sckipio plan to jointly develop services for the South Korean, Japanese and other large Asian markets by upgrading the old VDSL2 infrastructure to broadband using G.fast. The HFR service is designed to deliver up to 500 Mbps per subscriber while co-existing with 30a profile VDSL customers and uses
