Hibernia, TE SubCom to build 4,600 km submarine fibre path

Tuesday 22 July 2014 | 09:42 CET | News
Global telecom services provider Hibernia Networks and TE SubCom, a supplier of undersea communications systems and services, will together start a new Hibernia Express submarine cable system. The 4,600 km cable provide a low latency path between New York and London, connecting Halifax, Nova Scotia and Brean, UK, with terrestrial fibre. Hibernia Express will initially launch with 100 Gbps transmission capacity using TE SubCom's C100 SLTE platform. It will be a 6-fibre-pair submarine cable, with a portion of the fibres optimised for lowest latency and a portion optimized for 100x100 Gbps
