High-end smartphones to drive devices market to 2.32 bln shipments this year

The number of devices shipped worldwide are expected to reach 2.32 billion by the end of this year, an increase of over 2 percent from the 2.28 billion recorded in 2017, according to the latest study from Gartner looking at PCs, tablets and mobile phones. Two markets will drive overall growth this year, namely the mobile market and the high-end smartphone segment in particular, and the premium ultramobile market, where thin and light Apple and Microsoft Windows 10 devices are stimulating higher demand.
