Hispasat, GlobalSat to connect 8,700 public spaces in Mexico

Spanish satellite operator Hispasat has signed an agreement with Pan-American mobile satellite service provider GlobalSat to bring broadband internet access to over 8,700 public spaces in rural Mexican towns and villages. The spaces are located in three of the four areas that form part of the 10K Network, an initiative of the Mexico Conectado project set up by the country's communications and transport ministry (SCT). The 10K network aims to provide internet access to more than 10,000 schools, health centres, libraries, community centres and other public facilities in remote Mexican towns and
