Hitron picks MaxLinear components for Docsis 3.1 equipment

RF and mixed-signal IC provider MaxLinear announced that Hitron Technologies has selected its MxL278 Full-Spectrum Capture (FSC) digital cable front-end receiver and MxL236 upstream programmable gain amplifier (PGA) for a new family of Docsis 3.1 consumer premises equipment delivering multi-gigabit data rates. Hitron is demonstrating its Docsis 3.1 products at the Cable-Tec Expo 2015 in New Orleans. MaxLinear's MxL278 Docsis 3.1 receiver captures up to the entire 1.2 GHz of full deployed cable spectrum bandwidth to the home. It enables cable operators to meet consumer demand for multi-gigabit
