Home networking devices are expected to bring in USD 13.4 billion globally in 2014, representing an increase of 18 percent from the prior year, according to a new report from Infonetics Research. 802.11ac routers represented just 2 percent of all Wi-Fi-enabled routers shipped in 2013, but Infonetics expects 802.11ac to make up 42 percent of all Wi-Fi-enabled router shipments by 2015. Residential gateway revenue increased 0.5 percent and broadband router revenue declined 7.0 percent from 1H14 to 2H13.
