Honduran operators have blocked over 644,000 phones since 2014

Honduran mobile telephony operators have blocked over 644,000 mobile phones since the implementation of a black list by regulator Conatel in April 2014, reports El Heraldo. Last year a record 178,436 phones reported as stolen or lost were added to the list, while this year an average of 14,000 handsets a month have been blocked. Over the past 4 years, a total of 387,318 phones belonging to Tigo (Millicom) and 257,280 belonging to Claro (America Movil) have been disabled, said the report.
