Honduras mobile subscribers down 6% to 7.3 mln

The decline in the number of mobile users in Honduras accelerated in the second quarter, reaching a total of 7.3 million at the end of June, down 6.3 percent year on year, according to the latest update published by regulator Conatel. Over 90 percent of lines were prepay accesses, while the penetration rate fell to 80.5 lines per 100 inhabitants. Mobile internet users reached 2.6 million at the end of June, down 11.5 percent year on year and equivalent to 29 percent of the population.
