Honduras regulator Conatel takes over Comtelca presidency

The National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) of Honduras has taken over the presidency of the Regional Technical Committee on Telecommunications of Central America (Comtelca). Comtelca brings together telecoms regulators in six Central American countries – Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama – with the Dominican Republic participating as an associate member. Conatel said it would seek to democratise information and communications technology (ICT) in Central America during its two-year mandate.
