HP helps RAI's transition to tapeless

Monday 13 April 2015 | 10:49 CET | News
Hewlett-Packard (HP) has announced the implementation of a new digital platform for RAI as part of a multi-year project to modernise the production, editorial and commercial processes of Italy's state broadcaster through the adoption of digital technologies. The project, dubbed "Transition-To-Tapeless", followed a public tender to give RAI a fully customised file-based TV production system. Instead of transferring tapes from and to a central archive, multiple users can now search, browse and edit up to 100 million audio and video assets with just a few clicks, said HP.
