Hrvatski Telekom opens 'smart street' in Dubrovnik

Croatian operator Hrvatski Telekom and the City of Dubrovnik have opened the first 'Smart Street' in Croatia. The project was developed as part of a strategic partnership with Cisco and local partners. The pilot project, which runs until September, required an investment of just over HRK 1.5 million. The main features of the smart street include public lighting with multi-function sensor networks with different access technologies (from fibre and 4G to Wi-Fi networks), thanks to which citizens and visitors to Dubrovnik can benefit from free wireless high-speed internet access (50 Mbps).
