HTC lowers costs, narrows loss despite weaker sales in Q1

HTC reported figures for the first quarter, saying revenues fell to TWS 14.5 billion from the 22.2 billion recorded in the fourth quarter. The gross margin however rose to 16.3 percent from 10.5 percent sequentially. The operating loss meanwhile narrowed to TWS 2.4 billion from a loss of 3.6 billion quarter-on-quarter, with a margin of negative 16.2 percent. The net loss also narrowed sequentially, to TWS 2.0 billion or 2.47 per share, from a loss of 3.1 billion of 3.77 per share. The company added that it reduced operating costs by 20 percent.
