HTC to lay off 1,500 production employees

HTC announced plans to lay off 1,500 employees in its manufacturing operations in Taiwan by September, out of a total global workforce of 6,450. The company said it agreed a social plan with local labour unions to help the affected employees find work elsewhere, and it's also reviewing its workforce abroad.
