Huawei, Eurona to bring LTE broadband to rural Spain

Monday 27 July 2015 | 14:07 CET | News
Huawei has signed an agreement with Spanish Wimax operator Eurona Telecom to bring 4G broadband at speeds of up to 100 Mbps to rural localities in Spain. Eurona currently provides internet access to around 20,000 customers using the 3.5 GHz band and its deal with Huawei will allow it to use radio technology to target around 2.5 million people in Spain that have no fixed broadband connection. The deal forms part of Eurona's strategic plan to bring broadband at 4G speeds to towns with less than 100,000 inhabitants.
