Huawei grabs 2nd place from Apple in Q2 smartphone market - TrendForce

The worldwide smartphone market is expected to rise 6 percent sequentially in the third quarter to 373 million units, with Huawei passing Apple as the second largest vendor for the second quarter in a row, a study from TrendForce showed. For the second quarter, the increase was a sequential 3 percent to 352 million units, driven by the launch of new models by Chinese smartphone brands and strong sales of these brands in overseas markets. In Q3, holiday sales in the peak season will push growth.
