Huawei inaugurates Colombian R&D centre

Huawei has announced the opening of a research and development centre in the Colombian city of Medellin, capital of the Antioquia province. In a report in local daily La Republica, Huawei Colombia president Xiong Yihui said the company chose Medellin as the location for its new centre because it was the country's most technologically innovative city, with the presence of companies such as IBM and HP. Huawei already has three other Latin American innovation centres in Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela, and recently committed to building another in Chile.
