Huawei has inaugurated its first lab dedicated to IoT in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, reports Mobile Time. The IoT Innovation Center is located inside the Flextronics complex in Sorocaba, a city 87 kilometers from state capital Sao Paulo. Set up in partnership with FIT-Instituto de Tecnologia, the space is open for companies to develop and certify IoT services. Some projects may receive funding from Huawei provided they have market potential and demand from operators.

The laboratory was initially developed to look at four components of the National IoT Plan: Health, Agro, Industry and Intelligent Cities. Other solutions to be certified and approved in the laboratory are: smart electricity meter with 4G and an intelligent lighting system.
