Huawei names London, Bristol as top UK Smart Cities

London and Bristol are the leading 'smart cities' in the UK, according to research by Navigant Consulting for Huawei. The first-ever Huawei UK Smart Cities Index measured how well the cities are using digital technology. London and Bristol were ranked as 'Leaders', with Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, and Milton Keynes all ranked as 'Contenders'. London was ranked top for a range of innovations including the congestion charge scheme and other transport projects; with Bristol credited for the 'Bristol Is Open' project, which has united the University of Bristol, Bristol City Council and
