Huawei president Ren pledges to create more French R&D jobs

Huawei president and founder Ren Zhengfei met France's foreign minister Laurent Fabius and industry minister Arnaud Montebourg to discuss the company's investment plans in the country, Les Echos reports. Huawei pledged to create 170 R&D jobs in France and has already started hiring. The company will open two R&D units in Paris next year, focusing on design and mathematics, to add to its 10-engineer team, hired from Texas Instruments after the US company shut its lab at the high-tech cluster Sophia-Antipolis.
