Huawei promotes 'crowd-sourcing' to speed up small cells

Monday 24 February 2014 | 15:04 CET | News
Huawei announced a new "crowd-sourcing" small cell platform at Mobile World Congress, aimed at speeding up the roll out of small cells and boosting revenue from the devices. The Huawei platform allows facilities owners, building proprietors, network integrators and enterprises to be partners in the small cell construction and operation. The owners of these facilities act as crowd-sourcing partner by providing site, backhaul and maintenance to the mobile operator. They then get access to the mobile broadband services over the small cell, which they can integrate with their own applications.
