Huawei, Skyfire to partner on video optimisation

Opera Software's Skyfire unit has announced a partnership with Huawei to deliver video optimisation for the Cloud Edge vMSE platform. As part of the deal Skyfire's Rocket Optimizer platform will be made available to mobile operators in Huawei's Cloud Edge Virtual Multi-Service Engine (vMSE) as a Virtual Network Function (VNF) in a Network Function Virtualisation (NFV) environment. Rocket Optimizer is the first mobile video optimisation product to be added to Huawei's vMSE platform and, according to Skyfire, provides a 60 percent boost in bandwidth capacity, while preserving the best visual
