Huawei to open new Bristol R&D centre later in 2014

Huawei has announced plans to set up a new R&D centre in Bristol as part of its UK Innovation Programme. The new centre will hire 30 R&D employees and focus on researching ICT chips, software, and analogue chip technology for the future. It will complement the efforts of Huawei's existing Ipswich-based optoelectronics R&D centre. In total, Huawei will boost the number of UK-based R&D jobs to 140 by end-2014, rising further to 300 by 2017. new R&D centre is expected to open later in 2014.
