Huawei to pull a no-show at Microsoft OS launch

Huawei will not be present at the launch of Microsoft's Windows Phone8 operating system, Cellular-News reported. The company gave as reason the "the Sino-US political and economic storm," Yu Chengdong, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, confirmed on China's Sina Weibo, its version of Twitter. Microsoft is due to launch the Windows 8 operating system for smartphones on 29 October at a press event which would typically involve representatives from each of Microsoft's handset partners.
