Huawei wins contract for Cameroon number porting database

Wednesday 29 July 2015 | 14:48 CET | News
Huawei has won the contract to develop a number portability system in Cameroon. The regulator ART awarded the contract to Huawei for the supply, installation and operation of the database for managing number porting, the APA press agency reported. The contract worth just over XAF 1.5 billion should be completed within seven months, the ART said. Huawei is already active in the country as a supplier to mobile operator Camtel and rolling out fibre and fixed wireless infrastructure. It also launched its smartphones in the country earlier this year.
