Huawei, Xiaomi drive growth in Android market share in Europe, China

Wednesday 30 January 2019 | 15:48 CET | News
Huawei's troubles in the US have yet to have an impact on its smartphone sales in Europe. According to the latest smartphone OS data from Kantar Worldpanel Comtech for the three months to December 2018, Android accounted for more than three-quarters of all smartphone sales across the five biggest European markets, thanks to increased penetration for Huawei and Xiaomi. Android took 75.8 percent of smartphone sales in the quarter, up 1.6 percent points from a year earlier, while Apple's share fell by 1.3 points over the same period to 23.5 percent.
