Huawei's smartphone market share rises in South Africa

Huawei says it has made strides in the premium smartphone segment in South Africa, taking a 16.3 percent market share locally for all smartphone devices, and a 13.8 percent share for premium devices (USD 600), reports BusinessTech. A previous Effective Measure South Africa Mobile Report for 2017 indicates that Samsung remains the dominant mobile brand locally, with a 40 percent market share, while Apple is second at 10 percent, followed by Huawei at 9 percent.
