Hub One, Air France test 4G at Paris airport

French business operator Hub One, an Aeroports de Paris subsidiary, has obtained a licence to test 4G service at 400 MHz and 700 MHz at Roissy Charles de Gaule airport in partnership with Air France. The companies aim to test LTE for an airport-specific application. The allocation of spectrum for use at airports and military bases requires extensive testing before services go live. The test frequencies will be reserved for anti-collision applications, uses linked to aircraft preparation and to communications between aircraft and ground crew.
