Hull, East Yorkshire digital economy worth GBP 7 bln - study

The digital economy in Hull and East Yorkshire is worth almost GBP 7 billion and employs 57,000 people in the region, according to a report commissioned by local operator KC. Conducted by specialist technology analysts Innovation Observatory, the report found that the digital economy in Hull and East Yorkshire accounts for GBP 6.93 billion per annum (24% of the total local economy) and that it employs 57,600 people (22% of total employment locally). It also found that the local digital economy grew by 5.5 percent in 2014, compared to growth in the total UK economy of 2.6 percent. In addition,
