Hungary's mobile payment system to go live this autumn

Hungary's planned National Mobile Payment System, a platform for paying transportation fees throughout the country via mobile telephone, will go live this autumn. So says local publication Budapest Business Journal, which cites a statement given by Nemzeti Mobilfizetesi, the state-owned company establishing and running the system, to local publication MTI on 26 March. Under the new state-run system, firms that currently offer mobile payment services will operate as resellers. Initially, people will be able to pay parking fees and for motorway stickers through the new platform from 30
