IBM inks smarter cities centre deal with University of Dubai

IBM and the University of Dubai have announced a plan to establish a Smarter Cities Institute. It will be a venue for businesses, universities and city administrators to develop and test services for future urban demand and Smart City challenges. For example, they will be able to research the use of analytics and how it can improve the delivery and effectiveness of services to the public, such as speeding social services payments, reducing crime, refining transportation systems and improving education.
