IBM says GlobalFoundries owes USD 2.5 billion in damages for not honouring chip contract

Semiconductor manufacturer GlobalFoundries has asked a judge to give a ruling about its contract with IBM, after being accused by the company of owing USD 2.5 billion in damages, Reuters reported. IBM accused GlobalFoundries of failing to continue making chips for IBM and of therefore violating its contract with the company, according to a filing with the state court in New York.
