IBM, University of South Carolina open IoT research centre

IBM and the University of South Carolina have moved the 'Center for Applied Innovation' to a new USD 25 facility in Columbia, South Carolina. The centre located elsewhere on campus since its formation in 2014 will support the university, IBM and private sector researchers, including Fluor, who will collaborate on developing real-world applications for the IoT. The R&D will use cognitive computing, predictive analytics and predictive maintenance software.
