IBM Watson to be used in cancer care in US, Canada

IBM's cognitive supercomputer Watson will be used to find cancer treatments in 14 hospitals in the US and Canada, according to BBC citing an IBM announcement. By using its cognitive computing technology, Watson will be used to reduce the time doctors take to translate cancer-sequencing results into potential treatment options. The computer will search through every patient's genome of more than 100 GB of data and will combine this information with other medical records, journal studies and information about clinical trials.
