ICANN may delay Marrakesh meeting over Ebola restrictions

ICANN said it is considering postponing its 52nd meeting in Marrakesh, Morocco, scheduled for 12 February 2015, due to the likelihood that travel restrictions will be imposed on nationals from African countries. Morocco recently requested to postpone the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament because of possible travel restrictions in light of the Ebola outbreak in certain countries. ICANN said it was in active discussions with the hosts and that a travel restriction would harm its approach, which relies on the broad active participation of communities across geography and society.
