Icann releases first TLD requests, opens trademarks database

Icann has released the initial evaluation of applications for new top-level domains. The first set of gTLD applications has been released to applicants and the general public. There are three possible outcomes of the initial evaluation: Pass, Eligible for Extended Evaluation, or Ineligible for Further Review. Icann is releasing the initial evaluation results gradually, and all the results should be published by the end of August. Applications that pass the initial evaluation will be eligible to proceed to contracting a domain registrar and sign a registry agreement from 23 April. With the TLD
